HELLO,

I am currently working as a UX/UI Designer at Brightwell, a fintech company that provides financial services to cruise ship workers across the world.

I practice user-centered design and the design decisions I make are based on qualitative and quantitative research. In my current position, I create user flows, wireframes and design assets for financial Apps and Websites. I also have led efforts towards creating and maintaining a design system. I am used to dealing with complex rules, legal and technical limitations, and a lot of data.

I also enjoy dabbling in illustration, visual design, animation, and learning more about programming.

I am unable to share most of my recent professional work, but feel free to explore my other projects, or learn more about me.

About

I am Swiss / American, was born in the Philippines, but my mother is from Guatemala, and had a weird traveling life growing up. I came to Atlanta to study English in 2007 after finishing high school in Switzerland, and have been there since.

I studied illustration at SCAD, and Human-Computer Interaction at Georgia Tech. I have worked in game development, animation, at a game startup, in research for a geographic information systems lab and am now working at a digital agency. I have experience using a large variety of software (Adobe Suite, Sketch, Figma, InVision and more) though I always start everything with a pen and my sketchbook.

I like fantasy litterature and art, drawing and painting (with a lot of digital tools), hiking, discovering new things, learning. I also play a lot of video games (I grew up with Nintendo and love innovative gameplay in indie games and emerging technologies), and weekly sessions of Dungeons & Dragons.

If you have a question or something else you would like to discuss with me, don't hesitate to reach out by e-mail at nickoute@gmail.com
