I'm Annick, and I am currently working as an Associate UX Designer at AKQA.
I focus on detailed interactions. I like working on complex interactions that combine rules into simple, easy to use interfaces for users. I am also interested in micro interactions and movement within a page that help convey meaning and enjoyment. I like paying attention to details and diving deeply into problems.
Take a look at my projects below to learn more about my work.
Bike Safe VR
UX RESEARCH AND DESIGN
A VR Project to improve bicyclist safety on the roads of Atlanta. My team and I conducted research to learn more about the problems local cyclists face, and worked on solutions to solve them.
UX/UI DESIGN FOR ANDROID
Dice Llama is an Android app I created alongside programmer Matthew Compton. It's meant to replace physical dice usage when playing tabletop games. I was in charge of the UX and visual design of the app.
MASTERS PROJECT - EDUCATIONAL LANGUAGE LEARNING GAME
"Ce matin..." is the name of my Masters Project, which I worked under the guidance of GA Tech professor Ian Bogost. I created a prototype for a game to help French language learners review vocabulary and practice comprehension and conversational French in written form.
WIREFRAMES & PROTOTYPES
A Project for which I explored different software to create wireframes and prototypes, while exploring different interfaces and concepts for a simple medicine reminder app.
UX DESIGN FOR VR
A VR Prototype set in the universe of "Stranger Things". My team and I decided to work on extending the experience of the TV Shows by providing off-screen scenes as VR experiences, allowing the user to go through a piece of the storyline that happens before the show's timeline starts, and is not shown on screen.
ART & PERSONAL PROJECTS
Examples of the work I created as an illustrator, either for games, animation studios or for personal projects
ART DIRECTION AND PRODUCTION
Together with my two friends Molly Proffit and Leah Knighton, I co-founded a social game company called Ker-Chunk Games, and developed PrinceNapped. It's a puzzle unblock game where the player moves the pieces of the environment around to rescue a Prince with the support of a bounty hunter. The game has been released in various countries on Facebook, and a mobile version is in development.
BACKGROUND ILLUSTRATIONS FOR ANIMATION
Before going to Georgia Tech to focus on User Experience Design, I worked as an artist in the entertainment industry. I worked as a background artist at Floyd County Productions, a studio mostly known for it's TV show "Archer". The show I worked on was "Chozen", an animated TV series that was aired on FX in 2014.
I am very passionate about sci-fi and fantasy art, and have painted a lot of digital illustrations in the genre. I'm inspired by mythology, fantasy and popular media. This is a gallery of my favorite pieces.
Heartery was a small game me and three friends created in 48 hours for the 2014 Global Game Jam. Me and Rose Peng worked on the art, while Vu Ha was responsible for the code, and Andres Villareal was the composer. We all worked together on the game mechanics.
